Power Quality Improvement in a Transmission System Using (Series-Active Filter or DVR)

摘要

In this paper, the main discussion is on how to enhance the quality of a power in the transmission system or sub-system. Paper reveals that to improve the power quality by taking some hardware/software device in transmission lines. So, one of the major concerns is the quality of the voltage either it is for commercial purpose or domestic purpose. In this simulation, a filter which is nothing but SAF-series-active filter or DVR implements for improving quality of the power. The purpose of the filter is to provide constant voltage for a nonlinear load in a transmission system. The series-active filter or DVR made for mitigating with power quality-related problems like sag and swell voltage problems. In electrical system, power quality is the main role for a transmission system. The power system consists of voltage flicker and harmonics. By using Matlab/Simulation, the simulation has been designed. In this paper, the simulation of DVR results was introduced to show the efficiency of controller.
