Seismic Risk Assessment of Structures: A Review of Its Methods and Applications
摘要
Any building has its seismic vulnerability assessed to determine how much damage future earthquakes are likely to cause. The vulnerability assessment is a challenging and time-consuming process. Building identification and ranking can be done quickly and effectively using the rapid visual screening (RVS) method. The results of earlier studies using conventional RVS methods are described and contrasted in this study. This essay provides a comparison of the various RVS techniques used by various nations. The various methods for RVS have different scoring patterns because they were developed based on the geographical conditions that were prevalent at the time. The method varies depending on various factors like the load path, the quantity of weak stories, torsion, pounding effects, etc.
