Important Factors of Transportation that Can Improve the Quality of Tourist Travel in Bukittinggi

The condition of transportation in a tourist area is an important factor that can affect the number of tourists visiting the tourist area. The better the quality of travel felt by tourists in the tourist area, it will be able to attract more tourists to visit the area. This study aims to identify important transportation factors that can improve the quality of tourist trips in the city of Bukittinggi. This research was conducted using a quantitative method by collecting primary data obtained by giving questionnaires to tourists visiting the city of Bukittinggi. This questionnaire was given to public transport users and private vehicle users. Factors reviewed include time, cost, convenience, security, reliability, and accessibility. The data was analyzed using factor analysis method, in order to obtain important transportation factors that can be used as a basis for improving the quality of tourist trips. From the results of this study, for public transportation modes, there are 4 important factors, namely the ease of use factor, the condition of the facilities factor, the traffic condition factor, and the safety factor. The results obtained for private vehicle modes obtained 2 important factors, namely road and traffic condition factors, as well as safety and comfort factors.
