Effect of High-Damping Rubber Bearings on Performance of High-Rise Buildings in Highly and Moderate Seismic Regions
摘要
Earthquake-resistant building design has resulted in an innovation known as the base isolator system over the last few decades. Several types of base isolator systems have been widely used, namely High Damping Rubber Bearing (HDRB), Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB), and Friction Pendulum System (FPS). This study's objective is to examine the HDRB performance of several HDRB parameters, which were chosen as the subjects of comparative research. Five models are utilized with varying basic isolation parameters, namely model A, AS1, and AS2, where the model's stiffness parameter is lowered or added, followed by the AES and ACS models, where the model's control strength and elastic stiffness parameters are raised. In this research, an 11-story RSI Graha Waron building in the Surabaya area with soft soil conditions is chosen as a study model, and the number of floors is raised by nine levels to become 20 floors. The results of the analysis include the displacement of the roof, the basic shear force, the displacement between floors, and the condition of plastic joint damage. This study uses the SAP2000 structural aid program, which will compare the pushover analysis results with the ATC-40 Capacity Spectrum method, allowing the performance point results to be compared. Based on the comparisons of pushover analysis results with a plastic hinge mechanism, the two-time model enhanced the control strength and added the elastic stiffness. This significantly affected the number of plastic hinges that experienced fatigue and also influenced the determination of the performance point. However, the increase did not significantly affect the inter-story drifts.
