A Review of Research Concepts and Trends of Coalition Optimal Solutions in Collaborative Decision

The design process of construction project is expected to involve many stakeholders to achieve individual and mutual satisfaction. The stakeholders involved in this process are designers, project managers, and facility managers. They are considered to have an important role because they have different phases of work and are expected to be able to make construction project performance more efficient. This study aims to find research opportunities regarding objectives, methods, and techniques based on an analysis of 25 papers relevant to multi-person collaboration and decision-making results constraints of approval and denial in the design phase of construction projects. Each study employed diverse approaches, from analyzing research methods from 25 indexed papers. Broadly addressing the subject, the paper explores optimization in decision-making, collaboration during the design phase, and integrated project delivery. Based on this topic, research opportunities were found regarding the limits of stakeholder acceptance and rejection of decision-making results in the construction design phase. Prior research has utilized a variety of data-gathering approaches. Nevertheless, the introduction of quadrant mapping highlighted a predominant reliance on quantitative methods employing primary data with surveys for technique data. Consequently, the outcomes of this analysis augment the exploration of research methodologies concerning the themes of collaboration and decision-making results, signaling a potential pathway for future scholarly inquiry.
