Ripples of Climate Change: Effects on Reproductive Dynamics of Aquatic Animals and Vegetation

Climate change has brought many consequences to the aquatic ecosystem. One of these consequences is the changes in the breeding pattern of the dwellers, such as aquatic animals and vegetation. The purpose of this study is to depict how temperature affects the vulnerabilities of aquatic ecosystems to climate change and underscores the pivotal role of reproductive dynamics in ecosystem health. Qualitative approaches using secondary data from literature and bibliometric surveys are applied to analyze the nuanced ways in which temperature alterations disrupt the spawning and migration patterns of aquatic animals, with potential repercussions on population structures and trophic interactions, as well as the susceptibility of aquatic vegetation to changing temperatures and its subsequent impact on flowering, pollination, and seed dispersal. The result of this study is a model for adaptive strategies and policy interventions to safeguard the delicate balance of aquatic reproductive dynamics in the face of a changing climate.
