The Role of Science and Technology Innovation Competition in Talent Cultivation and Development
摘要
Nowadays, the science and technology innovation competitions (hereinafter referred to as STICs) geared towards undergraduate students is booming, exemplified by events like the College Student “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in China, and Mathematical Contest in Modeling overseas, both of which are high-level and high-quality events. These STICs offer students an opportunity to practically apply their academic knowledge and build a solid foundation for future employment prospects. At the same time, the continuous enhancement of students’ aptitude requires that STICs evolve in tandem with the development of various industries and specializations. Hence, to ensure the continuous supply of innovative talents to society, it is crucial to investigate the evolution of the STICs. In this paper, our study processes the competition data of the Chinese Collegiate Computing Competition(hereinafter called 4C) in Jiangsu division from 2017 to 2022 with modules such as Pandas and Pyecharts in Python. Based on visualization and modeling results, combined with employment distribution data and national educational policies, the development of the competition is analyzed, and suggestions are made for the future development of the STICs, in order to better utilize the talent cultivation function of the competition and promote the future development of talents.
