Sani‘ ol-Molk and The Thousand and One Nights

In “Sani‘ ol-Molk and The Thousand and One Nights,” the biography of Sani‘ ol-Molk is briefly presented. The study’s focus is narrowed down to the illustrations depicting the central narrative of the manuscript—the story of Shahrzad and Shahrbaz. The rationale behind selecting these thirteen illustrations as the primary focus of this book is explained. Following this, a detailed description of the pages featuring the narrative through illustrations and calligraphy is provided. The chapter concludes by highlighting a notable observation: a comparison between the calligraphed text and related illustrations reveals the incorrect sequence of three illustrated pages within this story.
