A Teacher Who Took Up a Weapon. Otynshy Alzhanov (1883–1918)

This chapter is dedicated to O. Alzhanov, a teacher who introduced «new method» schools and criticized the missionary orientation of the colonial educational system. He, who spoke about the catastrophic consequences of the resettlement policy for the Kazakh people, had to defend the people with arms in hand during the civil war.
