摘要

Bioinformatics, an essential discipline at the cutting edge of biological research and technology, plays a crucial role in sustainable development in many different fields. This comprehensive review emphasizes the various ways that bioinformatics contribute to biodiversity preservation, agriculture, public health, renewable energy, and environmental conservation. Bioinformatics facilitates the assessment of biodiversity, ecological data analysis, and predictive modeling by using advanced computational tools and data analysis techniques. Further, bioinformatics helps with precision farming, disease control, and genomic-assisted crop improvement in sustainable agriculture, which ensures food security and long-term resource management. Furthermore, bioinformatics supports pathogen genomics, epidemiological modelling, and personalized medicine in public health, helping to manage infectious diseases and develop specialized medical treatments. Additionally, bioinformatics plays a major role in optimization of bioenergy production process in the renewable energy sector. Bioinformatics helps with species identification, population structure analysis, and genetic diversity assessment in conservation genetics and biodiversity, which helps with the development of successful conservation plans. In order to address global sustainability challenges and promote a resilient and equitable future for all, future developments in bioinformatics for sustainable development will depend on data integration, technological innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
