Cellular Response and Molecular Functions in Plants Under Abiotic Stress

摘要

The main objective of this chapter is to gain an understanding of how plants respond to abiotic stress by studying the response of Arabidopsis thaliana, which is a widely studied plant model in the field of plant biology. This is accomplished by investigating the underlying molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways involved using various bioinformatics tools and databases. These tools include gene ontology (GO) analysis, the PANTHER classification system, the Arabidopsis Transcriptional Regulatory Map (ATRM), and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis. GO analysis provides a standardized approach for describing gene functions, which facilitates the examination of associated biological processes. The PANTHER classification system categorizes proteins and identifies enriched gene ontology terms, thereby providing valuable insights into the plant’s response to stressors. ATRM helps to identify gene regulatory interactions mediated by transcription factors, thereby identifying key factors involved in the plant’s response to stimuli. The KEGG pathway analysis highlights significant pathways enriched with genes involved in metabolic processes, biosynthesis, and signaling, providing valuable insights into the plant’s response to environmental stressors. This chapter aims to unravel the complex molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways that underlie the response of Arabidopsis thaliana to abiotic stimuli. These findings contribute to the understanding of plant stress responses and establish a foundation for future research in the field of plant biology.
