Management Simulation Project in Accounting: Remote or Mixed Learning?
摘要
The systematic transmission of knowledge cannot cease to happen. Therefore, in the pandemic context, new ways of teaching were tested conditioning the future of education. This paper focuses on students’ perceptions of the teaching and learning process. The study is exploratory, and data were collected through a questionnaire sent to final-year students who concluded the Management Simulation Project at Porto Accounting and Business School. This research aims to highlight the learning process during the pandemic where students were confronted with two types of teaching: remote and mixed (remote and face-to-face alternating). Despite the difficulties of replicating at distance simulation practices, students considered the adaptation model suitable and to have achieved professional digital skills. They also consider the professors monitoring to be constant and to be able to articulate personal and academic life. Students advocate that the Management Simulation Project teaching should be essentially face-to-face, with the use of technologies/platforms to support them in the work carried out. The adverse context of the pandemic turned out to be a turning point in education, encouraging the creation of innovative solutions, never thought of. The experiences of teaching technologies, namely the hybrid ones, proved to be suitable for teaching, well perceived by students, and aligned with the labour market.
