The Application of 4-Hexylresorcinol for Preventing Diabetic Complications
摘要
This chapter explores the effects of 4-hexylresorcinol (4HR) on various diabetes-related complications in animal models. Diabetes can negatively impact multiple organ systems, including the liver, male reproductive system, kidneys, and bones. The study investigates the potential benefits of 4HR administration in mitigating these complications. Findings suggest that 4HR may help alleviate liver damage and mitigate male reproductive system issues in diabetic animals. Additionally, 4HR appears to have a positive effect on diabetic nephropathy, possibly by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation. In terms of bone complications, 4HR administration has been associated with increased cortical bone thickness in diabetic animals, possibly through anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, or bone remodeling effects. Overall, this study highlights the potential therapeutic benefits of 4HR in managing diabetes-related complications. However, further research is needed to confirm the exact mechanisms and optimize the use of 4HR in clinical settings.
