Orbital Trauma and Reconstruction: A Case-Based Approach

Orbital trauma can present differently depending on the mode of injury and the age of patient. A thorough ocular evaluation is important as it may be associated with intraocular injury. Adequate imaging should be performed in a case of ocular trauma to rule out fractures of the orbit and surrounding structures. Management depends on the extent of trauma and nowadays can be customized on a case-to-case basis with the advent of 3D printing and patient specific implant. Multidisciplinary team may be needed to deal with more extensive fractures.
