Magnetoencephalography (MEG)

Magnetoencephalography (MEG) is a non-invasive test and measures the magnetic fields generated as a result of electric current generation in the brain. When dendritic component of the pyramidal neurons is activated synchronously, they generate electric currents and thus magnetic fields, which are recorded by MEG from outside the head. These magnetic fields are extremely small and are measured in the range of femto-tesla to pico-tesla.
