Oculomotor (3rd), Trochlear (4th) and Abducens (6th) Cranial Nerves

Ocular movements are controlled by both supranuclear and infranuclear pathways. The frontal eye field area (area 8) with output to the paramedian pontine reticular formation and medial longitudinal fasciculus in the brainstem which controls the third,fourth and sixth nuclei pass through the individual cranial nerves and through the neuromuscular junction to the orbital muscles.
