An Overview of Edge Computing for Big Data Analytics

Edge computing has revolutionized the way how Big Data is stored, processed, and analyzed by organizations. Since the volume, velocity, and variety of data are increasing, traditional computing systems have become inadequate for big data analytics. Edge computing facilitates the processing and analysis of data in proximity to its origin and allows organizations to store and process large volumes of data while reducing latency and improving data security. In this paper, we provide an overview of how edge computing technologies can be used for big data and its analysis and discuss their advantages and challenges, and presented useful cases of edge computing in big data analytics, highlighting their potential for improving business performance, reducing costs, and enhancing user experience.
