摘要

Polyphase sequences with high discriminating factors need to improve radar and communication systems performance in highly dense clutter and hostile environment. The generation of polyphase codes with high discriminating factors can be viewed as a multi-variable combinatorial optimization problem. A Modified Genetic Algorithm (MGA) is used as a global optimization algorithm to construct 240-phase sequences with high discriminating factors and with low autocorrelation sidelobes peak. Two effective techniques are integrated in MGA: the Hamming scan algorithm’s rapid convergence rate and the Genetic Algorithm’s (GA) global minimum convergence characteristic. In this paper, 240-phase sequences are constructed using MGA and these constructed sequences have higher discriminating factors than well-known Frank sequences available in the literatures. Apart from higher discriminating factors constructed sequences also have complex signal structure which makes it challenging for adversary electronics support measures to identify and analyze it.
