Design of Polygon-Shaped Open-Ended Slot Antenna for C-Band Applications
摘要
A polygon-shaped antenna work is carried out in this paper for C-band applications. The radiating patch is polygon-shaped and a slot is introduced in the patch for tuning to the appropriate band. The position of the slot is determined using a parametric study. By having the slot close to the feedline with a less dimension of 20 mm \(\times \) 16 mm, the frequency of operation from 3.75 GHz to 4.15 GHz is obtained. A partial ground structure is used. At 4 GHz, the polygon-shaped open-ended slot antenna radiates with an efficiency of 97.4% and a peak gain of 2 dBi. In the azimuth and elevation planes, a greater than 15 dB difference is obtained between the co-polarization and cross-polarization radiation characteristics. These simulated characteristics qualify the proposed one for wireless C-band applications.
