The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
摘要
Since its rapid expansion in the 1980s, the higher education sector in Hong Kong has received increasing public concerns and demands on its governance and accountability of the proper use of public funds (Mok, K. H., & Chan, S. J. (2016). After massification and response to internationalization: Quality assurance of higher education in Taiwan and Hong Kong. In The Palgrave handbook of Asia Pacific higher education (pp. 423–438). Palgrave Macmillan, New York. https://doi.org/10.1057/978-1-137-48-739-1_28 ; Tam, Journal of Higher Education Policy and Management 21:215–226, 1999). Established in 1965, the University Grants Committee (UGC) is a non-statutory body which advises the HKSAR Government on the funding and development of the higher education sector in Hong Kong.
