Biobased Nanomaterials in Regenerative Medicines

Due to its astounding ability to restore injured tissues using biobased nanomaterials, regenerative medicine has engrossed higher consideration in recent years. The physicochemical properties of nanoparticles can be rationally tuned to cause the right biological responses. Cell-to-cell and cell-to-matrix communications require appealing surface characteristics, porosity, and tensile strength. Biobased nanomaterials are naturally occurring, living-based substances. These are chitin, chitosan starch, gellan gum, hyaluronic acid, hydroxyapatite, and polylactic co-glycolic acid. These biomaterials perform a fundamental part in tissue engineering besides their use as wound dressings, bone replacement implants, scaffolds, substrates for cell seeding, and skin diseases. With this context, biobased nanomaterials may offer a promising substitute for current treatments thus advancing the science of tissue engineering for regenerative medicine.
