摘要

The advanced sensing technologies have changed many fields of science and technology from healthcare and environmental monitoring to industrial processes and food safety. Biobased nanomaterials are best known for their sensing applications due to high sensitivity and selectivity which can accurately detect microbes, vitamins, toxins, antioxidants, adulterants, and so on. These materials are derived from renewable and sustainable resources and provide excellent properties making them promising candidates for sensing applications. This book chapter furnishes a complete description of the latest developments in the use of biobased nanomaterials for sensing technology. The chapter starts with an introduction of biobased nanomaterials and its types, which provides the advantages of these materials with the conventional nanomaterials. Synthesis methods and in-depth discussion on sensing technology have been reported in detail. Furthermore, the challenges and future prospects of biobased nanomaterials in sensing technology are discussed by highlighting the potentiality for further research and technological advancements. Overall, this book chapter emphasizes the up-to-date overview of the usage of biobased nanomaterials in sensing applications.
