There is an urgent need for the development of edible and biodegradable composite materials based on nanocellulose (NCC). Food nanotechnology is advanced using nanocellulose (NCC) in food packaging. As an innovative culinary additive and biodegradable packaging material, NCC possesses exceptional physicochemical properties. It is a suitable carrier of active ingredients and a stabilizer for suspensions in a wide range of food products. Additionally, it is worth noting that NC has the potential to function as a beneficial component in food products. The chapter aims to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of NCC (nanocellulose)-based composites and their potential application in food packaging.
