摘要

Microfinance institutions (MFIs) are needed in underserved populations in emerging countries. Empirical research in Bangladesh reveals a complex relationship between MFIs governance, sustainability, and outreach. The research indicated that governance elements greatly impact several Bangladeshi MFI’s performance measures. Indicators include financial and operational self-sufficiency, return on equity, return on assets, and gross loan portfolio yield. In analysing MFIs’ outreach in Bangladesh, the research focuses on female borrowers, breadth, depth, and depositors.
