Basic Study of Barge Type Floater with Large Wind Turbine System by Using Numeral Simulation

摘要

Ocean renewable energy is one of the most important sectors to achieve “Zero emission”. Generally, ocean wind power generation is already developed mainly in the shallow water area as the bottom fixed (foundation) type. Nowadays, floating offshore wind turbine system (FOWT) is also growing for deeper water. In this study, the authors have focused on “Barge type” and do some basic parametric studies based on numerical simulation. Generally, it is mentioned that the “Barge type” has difficulty in large motion in waves compared to other typical types. Therefore, the authors designed four cases of Barge type floaters with another ingenuity and did a parametric study about intact stability and motion in waves. As a result, some type of designed Barge type floater may be applicable when the site's environmental condition is suitable if ingenuity is applied.
