Application of Horizontal Well Seismic Geological Steering Technology in Weiyuan Shale Gas Field

摘要

The Qiongzhusi Formation shale gas in Weiyuan area of Sichuan Basin is deeply buried, with complex structure, rapid change of formation dip angle, development of micro-amplitude structure and micro-fracture. It is difficult to use horizontal wells for efficient development. The structure and reservoir characteristics of the target area can be predicted by using the horizontal well joint VSP and surface seismic geosteering technology. This technology combines the vertical resolution advantages of VSP data and the horizontal resolution advantages of surface seismic data. In combination with logging and logging data while drilling, the velocity field is updated in real time through VSP data of target well and drilling data around the well to conduct fast pre-stack depth migration while drilling, guide the adjustment of target well trajectory, achieve accurate landing and fine control of horizontal section, and ensure smooth well trajectory and drilling rate of high-quality reservoir. The seismic and geological guidance results of Well X in Weiyuan area show that the actual drilling horizontal section is 1800m long, the drilling rate of the box is 100%, and the drilling rate of the platinum target is 100%. Each index has set a record of geological guidance for deep shale gas horizontal wells and achieved good results. The conclusion is that the horizontal well seismic geological steering technology can greatly improve the drilling success rate and provide technical guarantee for the efficient development of deep oil and gas fields.
