Seismic Data Acquisition Experiment Based on Compressive Sensing

Seismic exploration has been widely used in the oil and gas industry thanks to its high resolution. However, with the continuous research of seismic exploration, the exploration environment becomes more and more complex, and obstacles such as villages, rivers, and roads seriously affect the quality of seismic data acquisition and carry out to influence the final imaging accuracy. Based on compressive sensing theory, we conducted a 2D seismic data acquisition experiment in Liaohe oilfield in China. We used the greedy algorithm to design the irregular geometry and sparsity adaptive hard thresholding algorithm to reconstruct the irregular data. The imaging quality of reconstructed seismic data was improved compared to conventional acquisition. Experiment results indicate that compressive sensing acquisition may reduce cost while enhancing imaging quality.
