Study on Identification Methods and Countermeasures of Supercharge for Wireline Formation Testing

As oil and gas fields enter the middle and late stage of exploration and development, the supercharge problem of wireline formation test data becomes increasingly serious, which misleads the conclusion of exploration and development. The influence of supercharge on exploration and development is analyzed. Aiming at how to identify the supercharge in advance of the overseas main wireline formation testers such as RFT, SFTT and FMT, the pressure coefficient method, pressure buildup duration estimation method, identification of pressure buildup curve characteristic method and multiple setting test at the same depth were innovatively proposed, and the countermeasures were proposed to eliminate the supercharge. There principle and application effect are analyzed. Method 3 supercharge identification success rate 75% in Chad. Method 4 is effective in reducing supercharge in Chad, but unstable in Turkmenistan. The integrated application of the four methods has a good application effect, which is of reference significance for improving the utilization rate of the company’s overseas main wireline formation testers and guiding the field operation of RDT instruments. The essential method to eliminate supercharge is to adopt advanced wireline formation tester with controllable pretest rate and pretest volume.
