The Keshen 5 block is located in the Kelasu structural belt of the Kuqa Depression. The Paleogene Kumugeliemu Group in the area is a set of tight salt-gypsum caprocks, which provides favorable conditions for reservoir formation. The traditional method of identification of the bottom of salt layer has certain defects. The successful application of the element logging technology in the single-well salt floor in the Keshen 5 block proves that this technology is a good supplement to the traditional method and has played a particularly important role. The abnormal Sr, Zr peak can be used as an early warning for entering the mudstone section of the floor, through the characteristic element method (Fe, K, S, Na, Cl, S, Ti, Al), element ratio method (Al/Na, K/Cl, Mn/Fe, Ca/Mg, Si/Ti) can effectively identify floor mudstone at the drilling site, and can effectively distinguish floor mudstone and inter-salt mudstone sections by using Si/Ti and plate method, which can be used as a key basis for identification the bottom of the gypsum-salt layer.
