Numerical Simulation Method by Stages and Zones

Development of Jurassic heavy oil reservoirs in Kenkiyak Oilfield is now faced with the situation of multiple production wells, long production time and multiple exploitation methods of cold production and thermal recovery methods. In order to solve the problem of large amount of calculation and long calculation time in the process of numerical simulation, this paper uses the numerical simulation method by dividing stages and zones based on the principle of material balance. This method can be used to save the operation time of numerical simulation, reduce the non-convergence of calculation, and improve the operation efficiency of numerical simulation on the premise of keeping the fitting accuracy unchanged. At the same time, this method has been tried in the field production, which solves the demand of the overall distribution of the remaining oil in the reservoir, and provides a strong support for the prediction of development plan. It is first time that such method is used to carry out numerical simulation of large heavy oil reservoir in China. It has a good reference significance for the whole numerical simulation of large heavy oil reservoir.
