摘要

In electric discharge machining (EDM), the work and tool electrode do not physically touch. One variant of EDM involves adding powder of other materials to the dielectric medium to improve performance. This study explores the EDM of Nimonic C-263 using Ti powder blended in deionized water, with varying process parameters such as peak current (Ipc), pulse-on-time (Tx), and pulse-off-time (Ty). Titanium's high hardness and toughness enhances the machining rate. The use of Ti powder in the dielectric has improved material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (Ra). Increasing Ipc, Tx, and Ty has resulted in higher MRR, while increasing Ipc and Tx has increased tool wear rate (TWR). Ra increases with Ipc and Tx; however, it decreases with Ty.
