Characterization of Sommerfeld Effect of a 4-Pole Legs Active Magnetic Bearing Rotor-Motor System
摘要
A 4-pole leg active magnetic bearing (AMB) system is used for the study of Sommerfeld effect excited through a DC motor. The characterization of Sommerfeld effect is obtained through the power balance technique, i.e., motor-supplied power is equal to the dissipated power through vibration. Steady state response of the linearized system is validated with the transient response via ode45 numerical technique. Thus, it is discovered that the Sommerfeld effect is less as the bias current increases.
