Study on the Interlayer Characteristics of Channel Sand Body in Block E of S Oilfield

Within a certain range, the interlayer in the reservoir blocks the fluid flow and separates the flow unit of the fluid, which has a great influence on the permeability of the single sand layer, the oil displacement process as well as the formation and division of the remaining oil. Therefore, the analysis of the characteristics and spatial distribution of the interlayer is an important part of the study of reservoir heterogeneity. In order to reveal the law, the datas of small well spacing coring wells in E block were sorted out as well as the dip angle, thickness, lithology and distribution characteristics of interlayer in different sedimentary hydrodynamic environments were analyzed. It is concluded that the distribution characteristics and dip angles of interlayers in different types of river sand bodies in the study area are quite different due to the influence of hydrodynamic force. From the characteristics of interlayer thickness, the interlayers in the study area are generally thin. The interlayers with thickness less than 5 cm account for 65.5% and the interlayers with thickness greater than 10 cm only account for 17.6%. From the perspective of lithological characteristics, the grain size of the interlayer in the layer from bottom to top shows a change rule from coarse to fine. The lower part is dominated by muddy gravel, the middle part is dominated by silty mudstone and muddy siltstone as well as the upper part is dominated by mudstone interlayer.
