Dynamics of Optical Rogue Waves in a GRIN Waveguide with Different Background Beams

摘要

In this chapter, we discover optical rogue waves in a nonlinear graded-index waveguide, with spatially modulated dispersion, nonlinearity, and linear refractive index. The evolution of first-order rogue wave and rogue wave triplet on Airy–Bessel, \(\textrm{sech}^{2}\) , and \(\textrm{tanh}\) background beams has been studied in detail. This study reveal that the characteristics of RWs are well maintained while the amplitude of the first-order RW gets enhanced three times the maximum value of the Airy–Bessel and \(\textrm{sech}^{2}\) background beams and five times in the case of RW triplet. It is very interesting to realize these RWs in experimentally realizable situations on small-amplitude background beams in nonlinear optics.
