Re-written Songs, Musics, and Dubbing for Anime / 4: Indonesia

This chapter is a historical-sociological reconstruction of the role anime—along with a generally positively perceived public image of Japan as a geocultural entity—played and plays in the lives of many Indonesian youths and former youths, and, in particular, the songs and sounds of anime. The chapter offers a theoretically rich discussion on a context and stories that until recently have been largely overlooked in the international literature in European languages on cultural studies and scholarship on Japanese animation and its implications.
