Analysis of Thermal Autofrettage of Disks Using von Mises Yield Criteria
摘要
This work presents analytical solutions of elastic–plastic stresses, strains and residual stresses in the thermal autofrettage of a hollow disk based on von Mises yield criterion. During thermal autofrettage, the material is assumed to exhibit elastic-perfectly plastic behavior under plane stress condition. The numerical evaluation of the stresses and strains in a typical mild steel disk undergoing thermal autofrettage is carried out, and the corresponding solution is compared with the existing analytical solution employing Tresca’s yield criterion.
