A Design Guideline of Laminated Composite Plate Roof with Cut-Out
摘要
The application of laminated composite materials has grown in popularity in a variety of weight-sensitive engineering sectors due to their exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio, which distinguishes them from other materials. In order to accommodate various utilities, opening or cut-out in the plate has become an essential requirement in various industrial structure. This paper intends to conduct a detailed study of the stress behavior of composite plates with various locations of opening in them for uniformly distributed load intensity. Finite element parametric investigation is undertaken out to determine the stress generation, strain and deflection for cross and angle ply orientations considering simply supported boundary conditions to determine the most suitable position of cut-out.
