Teledermatology is defined as the use of telecommunication technologies for the exchange of medical information to provide specialist service by a dermatologist to another health professional or directly to the person with the skin ailment. Its slow initial acceptance has suddenly changed with the COVID-19 pandemic. What are the detractors? Why has there been resistance among practitioners to provide a diagnosis using images? This chapter will cover some of these aspects to demonstrate that teledermatology is stronger than ever and the pandemic has shown us the need to rethink its role in our profession.
