VOCs Monitoring Device Using New Ceramic Semiconductor Sensors

Currently, China mainly adopts three technologies for online continuous monitoring of VOCs: FID, PID, and MOS. Notwithstanding, for long-term online monitoring of VOCs in on-site environments, FID technology has high equipment costs and requires the use of hydrogen as a consumable, resulting in higher operation and maintenance expenses. Besides, the PID sensor has a short lifespan and high cost, rendering it incapable of measuring gases exceeding the PID lamp value, and has an extremely low response to some short-chain alkane components. Moreover, low selectivity of MOS sensors hinders their application prospects in the Internet of Things (IoT) era. Accordingly, this paper aims to overcome the shortcomings of existing mainstream technologies, provide a new ceramic semiconductor sensor and employ AI Big data technology to apply to VOCs monitoring, which is suitable for long-term continuous monitoring as well as mass deployment of VOCs in complex industrial parks.
