Agriculture is crucial for economies worldwide, contributing to GDPGDP” and food securitySecurity” . The burgeoning population necessitates increased demand for nutritious food and water resources. Declining land availability and water allocations require effective water management systems for agricultural productionProduction” . Precision agriculture and smart irrigation techniques enable precise water application for the “per drop more crop” objective. Top technologies for agriculture water management include IoT, sensors, real-time monitoring, and Unmanned Arial Vehicles (UAVs). This chapter focuses on implementing an IoT-based smart irrigation system. IoT comprises hardware, software tools, and InternetInternet” -triggered events. Connectivity methods like Wi-Fi and Ethernet link devices to the Internet. The IoT architectureArchitecture” consists of application, sensing, network, and data processing layers. Studies show that IoT-based irrigation systems are feasible, cost-effective, and optimize water resources for agriculture. This technology offers user-friendly features, saves time, and improves efficiency compared to existing systems, leading to enhanced crop yields and agricultural sustainability.
