Guar-Wheat System
摘要
Guar is a drought-hardy, deep-rooted, legume crop grown in summer months. It can be grown as fodder, vegetable, and green manuring. Its industrial usage includes highly viscous novel agrochemical, galactomannan gum, which makes this crop a gold crop. It is useful as a cooling agent, digestive aid, laxative, and appetizer. Guar offers an environment-friendly alternative to undesirable chemicals, and due to its demands in fracking, its price has been increased by 50% in the past 2 years. Despite its economic importance, very few studies related to guar production technologies and its genomic resources exist. Use of crop modeling to design optimum production technologies and ideotype plant can help to improve guar yield in general and gum quality in particular.
