Alfalfa is an important fodder crop in the world. It is also called as “queen of fodder.” It is a multi-cut and perennial crop. It is a deep-rooted crop. It is being used as fresh fodder as well as silage. This crop has a significant contribution in the international trade. The yield and quality of alfalfa are currently affected by climate change. In order to feed the livestock, sustained productivity of alfalfa is the need of the hour and market demand.
