摘要

Nanoparticles (NPs) are escalating for the therapeutics, clinical investigations, and examining of ailment- or drug-induced mechanics in the human physiological micro and macro-system. Brain-targeted drug delivery is the most influential and promising approach in present decade. Smart nanomaterial-based targeted delivery in brain-specific loci will present a novel approach to target-delivery. Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Huntington’s diseases need safe and efficient therapeutics. Any changes in genome of brain lead to serious health issues. Genotoxic events and neurotoxic events sparked by nanoparticles lead to serious health issues and patient compliance. Nanomedicines safety and polymers/ionic toxicity profiling for brain-targeted drug delivery studies are required in present scenario. The neurotoxic outcome put forth by several traditional and advanced nano-constructs may be involved in pathophysiology of degeneration of neurons. Therefore, it is now a days crucial that an intensive information behind these mechanisms is required before taking nanomaterials as therapeutically value. In this present chapter, we systematically examine the pros and cons of nanocarriers in brain targeting theranostics.
