Analyzing Neutrino Oscillation in the Presence of Rotating Gravitational Mass

  • Himanshu Swami

摘要

We discuss deviation in the neutrino oscillation phase in the weak gravity limit that occurs due to the presence of a rotating gravitational mass. Particularly, we analyze its impact on the neutrino phase in the equatorial plane using the asymptotic form of the Kerr metric. We find that when neutrinos propagate over astrophysical distances, the rotational contribution of gravitational mass in the neutrino phase can be significant compared with the non-rotating gravitational mass scenario. Accordingly, this rotational contribution in the neutrino phase would cause a significant change in neutrino flavor transition probabilities and flavor flux at the location of the detector. We discuss the changes in the neutrino phase for both the gravitational lensing of neutrinos and the one-sided propagation of neutrinos.
