Implications of First LZ and XENONnT Results: A Comparative Study of Neutrino Properties and Light Mediators

Next-generation direct dark matter detection experiments reveal insights into neutrino properties and light mediators beyond the Standard Model. Using recent data from LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) and XENONnT collaborations, we show that XENONnT has established the most stringent upper limits on neutrino magnetic moments (a few \(\times 10^{-12}~\mu _B\) ) and millicharge ( \(\sim \) 10 \(^{-13}e\) ). These limits are competitive to LZ and surpass previous constraints from Borexino and TEXONO. Further, we demonstrate that XENONnT and LZ are placing improved sensitivities to simplified models with light neutrino generalized interactions, surpassing Borexino-Phase II constraints.
