Ancient Indian (Hindu) Sexuality Texts and Psychology

There is no doubt numerous Hindu sexuality texts or books available. This chapter explores easily accessible and available public domain Hindu sexuality texts and thoughts. This chapter starts with discussing the key notions of Hindu sexuality texts in the introduction section like; celibacy and hinduism, women sexuality and gender category etc. and then discusses key sexuality texts of ancient India (Kaamshstras) like; Kamasutra, Ratirahasya, Ananga Ranga, Ratimanjari, and other impressions found in Ayurveda, Jyotisha Shastra etc. Finally the chapter ends with the discussion on Indian sexuality texts & thoughts with regards to psychological aspects, such as; sexual typology, queer sexuality, and thoughts on homsexuality etc. This chapter provides an introductory text among Hindu sexuality thoughts and draws their psychological link. Because it is just an introductory exploration of the subjects, there is a need for wider and all inclusive search in the sole Indian sexuality texts or books for deep analysis.
