On the Strategies for Chinese Universities’ Participation in Global Education Governance

Chinese universities participate in global education governance and make corresponding contributions to global education, which helps China transform from a large education country to a strong education country and move to the center of the world education stage with a more open and confident attitude. Because of China’s credibility, inclusiveness, humanity and openness, China’s universities have shown unique advantages in participating in global education governance; however, in the face of the complex international situation, they also encounter many challenges, such as the lack of relevance, foresight and sustainability of participation. Towards 2035, Chinese universities should adopt practical strategies to clarify the core qualities of internationalized talents, make great efforts to cultivate and deliver talents to international organizations, introduce high-quality higher education resources from foreign countries, explore appropriate educational export of universities, tell stories of China's educational development, participate in the formulation of global educational rules, and promote people-to-people educational exchange between China and other countries, so as to effectively participate in global education governance.
