The Practice-Based Generation and Development of Subject Education

Along with China’s reform and opening up, based on the Marxist doctrine and the grand and unique field of practice of basic education, the subject education is a major accomplishment in the new period of reform and opening up. The development of subject education in China has undergone four stages: the proposal of rectification of names and subject education, the foundational research of subject education experiments, the holistic construction of basic education reform and the practice paradigm of education subjects, and the practical enhancement of the theoretical model of education subjects. It presents three forms of existence: structural, cultural, and practical. With 40 years of practical exploration and accumulation, subject education has created a paradigm of high quality development of school education as the core of individual, group and regional education. The “trinity operation model” of individual, group and region, which highlights the practical logic of subject education with Chinese characteristics, has led to a unique development path of subject education in China. The basic model and practice paradigm of subject education will show its important value in promoting the development of basic education reform, adhering to the value orientation of all for the development of students, reshaping the educational innovation system, and reconstructing the new pattern of development of educational sciences.
