Professionalism is a core competency for the practice of dentistry. It is one of the soft skills taught and assessed in dental curriculum worldwide, encompassing attributes such as effective communication, ethical behavior, and time management. It is also a complex phenomenon with many facets, such as norms, values, and expectations that evolve with time and determine what it means to be a professional. Consequently, it is challenging to teach, assess, and articulate. With the ubiquitous use of social media in today’s world, the concept of e-professionalism has become relevant in dental education. A growing body of literature in this field addresses the understanding and perceptions of e-professionalism among healthcare students and professionals. This chapter addresses the concept and definition of e-professionalism, perceptions among healthcare students, and the significance of equipping students with the knowledge and skills prior to graduation, various methods in teaching, and assessing e-professionalism.
