摘要

Block B of the Amu Darya in Turkmenistan has complex geological conditions and fractured carbonate reservoirs. Narrow safety density window caused complete loss of circulation and frequent blowout occurred frequently. The simultaneous loss and kick seriously affect drilling safety, which cause prominent serious reservoir pollution and high well risk, and slow the drilling speed, which caused long drilling cycle and high cost, and seriously restrict the process of exploration and development. The application of managed pressure drilling technology effectively solves the above problems. This paper focuses on introducing the adaptability, countermeasures and application of managed pressure drilling technology in B block on the Amu Darya right bank. The application of precise managed pressure drilling technology in the Karloff-Oxford target layer of Well W-22 and Well M-21 effectively controlled the pressure profile of wellbore liquid column, achieves the purpose of efficient and safe drilling, reduces the leakage of various types of slurry and reduces the pollution of production layer. The application results show that the managed pressure drilling technology can adapt to the demand of narrow density window of drilling of the Amu Darya right bank in Turkmenistan, which can effectively reduce the impact of downhole complexity on drilling operations such as overflow and leakage, reducing the loss of non-production time, facilitate the discovery and protection of reservoir oil and gas, and provide a technical means for the safe drilling of fractured narrow density window of oil and gas reservoirs. This technology has the conditions for large-scale industrial application.
